Your own PC + a free demo
Install MetaTrader 5 from MetaQuotes, open a demo at any broker, compile Gold Bolt, leave the terminal running. Algo Trading must stay enabled and the machine must stay awake. This is the only option that is genuinely free with zero conditions.
- 1Download MT5 for Windows, macOS, or Linux from the MetaQuotes site.
- 2Open a demo account from the broker list inside the terminal.
- 3Compile GoldBolt.mq5 and attach it to XAUUSD M15.
- 4Keep the PC powered. Sleep mode kills the EA.

Broker-sponsored VPS
Several brokers still give Windows VPS if you deposit or trade a monthly lot minimum. Latency is usually better than a home PC because the box sits next to the trade server. Conditions change — confirm on the broker site before you fund.

- 2Orbex has listed free VPS on all account types with no volume gate.
- 3XM: often $500 balance or 5 lots / month. IC Markets: around 15 lots / month.
- 4Once issued, remote-desktop in, install MT5, attach Gold Bolt, enable AutoTrading.

MQL5 Virtual Hosting
MetaQuotes’ own cloud. Right-click the account in MT5 Navigator → Register a Virtual Server. Your charts, the compiled EA, and the algo-trading flag migrate in one step. Trial is 24 hours. After that it is a rental, typically billed from the MQL5 account.
- 1Compile and attach Gold Bolt on the local terminal first. Make sure it is trading as you want.
- 2Click the VPS icon in MT5 or right-click the account → Register a Virtual Server.
- 3Start the 24-hour trial. Migrate experts + charts + signal (experts only is enough).
- 4Confirm in the VPS journal that Gold Bolt is running after migration.
What is not actually free
Cloud “always free” ARM boxes
Oracle Cloud’s always-free tier is Linux ARM. MetaTrader 5 is a Windows x86 app. Wine + box86 hacks exist; they are a poor idea for live orders. Skip this unless you enjoy fighting graphics drivers more than trading.
AWS / Azure / GCP trials
New-account credits can run a small Windows VM for a couple of months. After the trial you pay. Fine for a short evaluation, not a forever host. Watch that the instance is in the same region as your broker (NY / LDN).
